You can get a lot done in 30 minutes. But the most productive 30 minutes of my day doesn’t result in a cleaner house or another blog post.

Everyday, right after breakfast I try to get on the floor and play with my daughter for a half an hour. Not distracted by phone calls or to do lists. With no agenda. She leads the way and we play.

And it’s highly productive.

The days our 30 minute playtime is a high priority, she’s more cooperative. She plays better by herself later on in the day. She tends to follow our house rules better.

She knows her mama cares about her. About what she likes. She gets to lead and have some undivided attention. And my soul fills as I purposefully marvel at the growing and learning happening before my eyes. It doesn’t get more productive than that.
