Kids playing outside of their school with some swings and a slide.

I had no plans to do any formal schooling this year. I’m a firm believer in learning through play and don’t think preschool is strictly necessary. But as hot, sticky summer days turned into cool fall ones and her friends started heading to school, my daughter begged to do school. So we are – just a couple mornings a week. We’re all thriving with the additional structure and having fun exploring our world in new, slightly more formal ways.

But more importantly, I’m reminded once again that plans change. That each family’s needs are different. That our needs are changing all the time. And that flexibility is key for any family’s survival.

Have you had any plans change this year? What are your kiddos doing for school this year?
